Origami stool
We are all tired of seeing another Swedish inspired chair design but Jakub Piotr Kalinowski's ORISTO is refreshingly original. It is a stool inspired by Japanese origami. He used aluminium and polypropylene to create the light weight and simple form. He also made use of a bending and cutting method which allowed simplicity and cut manufacturing costs. This has allowed Jakub to market his ORISTO stool to the mass market, rather than just an elite few. www.jpkalinowski.com

Simone Rayne
Simone Rayner was born in Cape Town but spent most of her childhood growing up in Australia. She took art as a subject all through her school career. Simone studied at Red and Yellow for two years and completed her diploma in design at AAA. "If I have to be honest with myself, the real reason I got involved in commercial advertising is because I'd heard that I could party my ass off. It was only after I'd drawn a picture for a friend as a gift four years ago that I realized how much I enjoy illustration." Although quite young in the illustration industry Simone has worked on numerous Mingo Lamberti designs. The success of these designs has only encouraged her to further explore illustration as a career. She currently finished the Scotty dog design for the Grandpa range of sweater for Mingo Lamberti. r
